Dierks: Mountain High Tour

Dierks Bentley kicked off his Mountain High Tour a few weeks ago, featuring Brothers Osborne & LANCO, and the tour pranks have already begun.  He told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton:

“The LANCO guys are great, I had them doing all kinds of crazy things, I had them jumping into trashcans full of ice, they’re bringing that youthful energy, it’s their first big tour, so I’m getting to really mess with them during the daytime. They’re doing exactly what they should be doing, they’re fully embracing this stage in their life. They bring a lot of energy, a lot of fun.”

Explain the ice thing? “I bring out a bunch of tools on the road, I have a big trampoline, I had them jump on it. I have a trashcan full of ice, I like that cold water plunge thing, I get a lot of energy from that, so Brandon lasted 15 seconds.  Eric lasted like 6 minutes, but Brandon only lasted 15 seconds.  He needs to work on that.  I got those guys to puke this weekend!  I brought a trainer out to do fitness stuff, and they’re game for anything.  So I got two of the guys to puke.  Yes! That’s pretty awesome.”

The tour began in Maryland, which is the home state of Brothers Osborne: So many family members backstage, it was awesome.  I met their father and mother.  It was really special to have them hang backstage at The Moose Saloon.  I had to give it a mountain name, so we call it the Moose Saloon, the Moose was getting loose that night, lotta people partying, good to see them back there.”

Brothers Osborne appear on Dierks album The Mountain on a song called Burning Man: “I was listening to their new album, and they lived this song, and John’s guitar would sound awesome on it.  It’s also great because they can do it with me on the tour.  I can’t imagine it without them and it’s one of the highlights of the show.”
