A few weeks ago, a very amazing thing happened at a benefit in New York City. It was the annual Stand Up For Heroes event for the Bob Woodruff Foundation. That night, Eric Church got the opportunity to sing with Bruce Springsteen.
He described the entire experience to Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton, and talked about the way Bruce makes music has played a part in his own musical decisions:
Bruce invited Eric to join him on stage for a song: “I was in my dressing room, and Bruce calls me up, ‘Hey you wanna do Workin’ On The Highway?’ I said, Yeah. I know it. I played my set, and he was side-stage for the whole thing. I’ve done some nerve wracking things, and that was one of them. When I came out to do our song together, he said, ‘You did a real great job tonight.’ Then we sang our song together. It was a great time between two guys who’d never done that. It’s one of those on one hand of the things that I’ve done, and it’s at the top of that hand.”
