This week, Thomas Rhett co-hosts the Countdown, to preview his Very Hot Summer Tour, his new album Center Point Road, and his hit “Look What God Gave Her.” But he also talks about a lot of his friends in the Top 30.
For example, Lon played a clip from Kane Brown saying he has a jacket for Thomas. “Kane facetimed me one day and said he had a gift for me. He’d gotten two of the same jacket, and we wear the same size. I still haven’t picked it up yet, maybe he’ll sign the inside pocket.”
Kane & his wife are expecting a baby girl, so did he ask Thomas for advice? “He told me in Vegas at the pool right before the ACMs that he was about to be a dad. He’s gonna be a great dad, they’re gonna have a solid family.”
Thomas has toured with Luke Bryan, and now he’s asking Luke for some advice: “I’ve been texting Luke a lot lately because I recently got super into fly fishing, and Luke is the expert. I said, ‘Where should I go,’ and he literally put me in contact with people. He always goes the extra mile.”
Thomas has just kicked off his Very Hot Summer Tour, and he spoke with Lon about his high flying entrance: “There is this thing called a toaster, it shoots me onto the stage. There are five settings on the toaster, and they recommend not to go beyond level 3. Because if you do, you’re getting shot 12 feet in the air. My goal is to reach level 4. It is such a fun way to enter a show.”
Lon also asked Thomas about the new house he’s building: “We built a room, Lauren wants to call it a theater room. There’s nothing ‘theater’ about it, it’s just a room with a TV in it. We put a pool table in, we love playing this game a friend of mine invented called Jam Ball on the pool table. It’s a game we play without pool sticks, and my goal is to have gigantic Jam Ball tournaments.”
Thomas also has great stories this week about Eric Church, Jon Pardi, Midland , Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, and Florida Georgia Line.
