Dierks Bentley hosted a pre-Super Bowl party in February at his Whiskey Row club in Phoenix. Lots of big stars attended, including Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker, and Kid Rock. But apparently there was a party BEFORE the party. Dierks explained this week to Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton:
“We went bowling that afternoon. Me, Florida Georgia Line, their crew, and of all people, Nelly and Kevin Hart. As I was getting ready, Tyler of FGL calls me and says. ‘Bring some money. These guys bowl for money.’ So I brought my wife, and it was couples for teams. Guess who won: Tyler! We did that, watched Kevin Hart’s show, and then we all wound up at Whiskey Row, so it was a pretty fun day.”
Bowling might not seem to fit a cool guy like Dierks, but he said otherwise: “I used to be a bowler, I used to have my own shoes, my own ball, my own bag, every score over 200 I’d get a print out and put in the side pocket, and I lost that bag somewhere on the road with Cross Canadian Ragweed. We used to go bowling all the time. I lost that ball somewhere. Who knows?
Back to the Super Bowl party, Dierks revealed his recent conversation with another party goer: Jason Aldean: “I just saw Jason at the ACMs, and he said, ‘Your wife was looking like she had the best time, I have never seen her like that!’ And he was right, she had her shoes kicked off, dancing on the tables, broke a few glasses, I carried her out of the bar, but it was a fun time. When something special like the Super Bowl comes along, it’s always fun to hang with other singers.”
