Chris started the year at Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa: “We were smoking cigars on the beach, and David Lee Murphy came along and joined us. We just sat there on the beach and ate some ceviche.”
In April, he won the ACM Video of the Year for “Drunk Girl.” “All of a sudden, Reba burst through the curtain and presented it to me, and it meant a lot to me that she did it, because I respect her so much. Still waiting to get the trophy in the mail.”
Chris was at the Opry last week for the induction of Luke Combs: “I was very humbled to be a part of that, it’s a huge honor, and very rewarding.”
Chris gave Lon a sneak peak at his new album: “I have a collaboration that’s out of genre that may be a big global thing. I can’t say who, but it’s a global superstar married to another global superstar. It’s so far out of my wheelhouse. When it comes time, I’ll want you to be the first one to know.”
Blake Shelton has the week’s #1 song, and Chris says he has a surprise coming with Blake: “I’m gonna say this: Blake Shelton is a ‘REAL friend of mine.’ That’s all I’m gonna say. Very soon, you’ll understand what I said.”
Chris also has great stories this week about Blake Shelton, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, Lee Brice, and Cole Swindell.
