This week’s co-host, Cole Swindell, has been on the road all summer with his longtime friend Luke Bryan. “It’s been cool to be out there again with him. It’s what I wanted to do this year. He’s hilarious, but he’s such a good guy. It was a pleasure to be around him.”
Cole says he recently had a chance to meet Luke Combs’ mom while appearing at Luke Bryan’s Farm Tour. “I got to give her a big hug, and she told me what Luke said to her about me, and I got to tell her what I think about him. To see her, for her to see my show, and you can tell why Luke’s the guy he is, because of her.”
When Eric Church was Lon’s co-host, he told a story about how Cole was his guest for two shows in St. Louis. Lon played that audio for Cole, and he was visibly stunned. “I wasn’t ready for that. I’m a huge fan, and he is one of the guys who made me want to write songs. It was cool to go two nights. They gave me a dressing room, and my own personal bottle of Jack Daniels, I stood at the sound board, then went down to the pit, singing along with every song. To see him play two sold out shows in St. Louis was my favorite weekend ever.
Cole offered his congratulations to the newly-engaged Jon Pardi: “To get to propose to the love of your life on the stage of the Ryman Auditorium, that’s are probably two things he loves the most. I can’t wait to congratulate him in person.”
A couple of weeks ago, Cole was invited to the home of Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley for the launch of his new clothing line: “I went to their party the other night. Their place is so nice. I hadn’t been there for a while, and now they have a barn, a saloon, and man, what a beautiful place. That was a fun night, Dustin, Jason were there, and it’s inspiring to see what they’re doing.”
Earlier this year, Cole appeared on Dancing With The Stars: “Man I’m glad I was on there just singing. I’ll guarantee I’ll never be on Dancing With the Stars if I have any choice. My buddy Lauren Alaina is on there now, and it’s pretty cool to watch her. But I don’t think they’re gonna call me to be a dancer.”
Cole also has great stories this week about Dustin Lynch, Jimmie Allen, Matt Stell, Ingrid Andress, and Garth Brooks.
