This week’s co-host is Chris Lane, who told Lon what he’s been doing while the touring world has been shut down these past 9 months: “It’s given me a chance to spend lot of time with my wife, we just celebrated our one-year anniversary, and also given us time to try to make a baby! I’ve played a lot of golf, and we haven’t even taken our honeymoon yet.”
Lon asked Chris how he & Lauren celebrated their first wedding anniversary: “On the couch, watching TV. I think I cooked something on the grill that night. We didn’t go anywhere, we just celebrated with our dogs at the house.”
Chris told Lon that he recently organized a golf trip for about 19 country singers at Pinehurst Golf Course in North Carolina: “Everybody decided they wanted to get out of the house, and golf is one of the safest things we can do now, because it’s outside. We had Jake Owen, Charles Kelley, Hardy, Shay Mooney, Scotty, McCreery, Jameson Rodgers, and more.” (See video below)
When he’s not on the golf course, or home with his wife, Chris Lane is playing softball with a group of country stars: “We had so much fun on that team. Made it to the championship game, and ended up losing, but for us to get an opportunity, we’ll probably never have the time to do that again.
Who’s idea was it? “Jameson Rodgers set it all up. It started with a group text, ‘Who wants to play softball,’ and I said heck yeah! So it was Jameson, Morgan Wallen played shortstop, Jordan Davis played 3rd base, Hardy, and a lot more. We had so much fun. It was great.”
Chris was supposed to be part of Rascal Flatts‘ 20th anniversary farewell tour this year. When it was canceled, Chris was obviously disappointed, but so was his father-in-law: “He is a huge Rascal Flatts fan, and he’s bummed because he was hoping to meet them.”
Chris also has great stories this week about Brad Paisley, Kane Brown, Gabby Barrett, Dan & Shay, and Lady Antebellum.
